Introducing Jacob Moore, a member of our customer service team at Christy, in this weeks meet the team. Jacob helps with all things customer related, to give you the best Christy experience!
Name: Jacob Andrew Moore
What is your background?
I started at Christy almost straight after leaving secondary school – I started when I was 17 and I have been here for eight years this month (June).
What is your role at Christy?
Customer Service – Maintaining the e-commerce accounts from an order and customer point of view, as well as handling the first point of contact email address on our website (firstname.lastname@example.org).
Describe a typical day in your shoes?
I will start the day by clearing anything e-commerce-related that is open, overdue, outstanding or urgent, before moving onto my personal work emails and then the sales email queries – the latter being the most part of my job. For those who work closely with me they know just how bizarre some of them can be. I will then wait for Janet to go into a meeting for the rest of the day so I can talk, before completing my scheduled brew-round at 13:30.
What’s the best thing about working at Christy?
My people. There are so many unique characters in the office. I generally enjoy the vibe in the office.
What is your biggest achievement so far?
Buying my own property at the age of 21.
What is your favourite Christy product and why?
It was actually a Kingsley bed linen range called Eclipse. It was cheap, nice and vibrant – and I like the colour purple. It was available when I first started and it reminds me of when I first went into full-time work. Karen designed it and when I told her it was my favourite she said it was her worst! Shows how much I know…
What is your favourite quote/book/podcast?
I watch virtually every episode of The Joe Rogan Experience (JRE) – my favourite podcast, which is also streamed live on YouTube.
What is your hidden talent?
100m sprint (although not so much anymore…) I used to represent Stockport regionally and I still hold the school record.
When you are not at Christy, what is your favourite thing to do?
I’m usually watching Stockport County most weekends and I also go to Warrington Wolves when I’m not at County. Anything football, rugby league or drinking related (preferably all at the same time…)
Who inspires you?
Rob Burrow – a recently retired rugby league player with motor neurone disease.
If you were stranded on a desert island what would be your 3 luxury items?
Cholula Hot Sauce, water-to-ethanol making kit, SPF 100.
What’s your favourite desk snack/drink?
Coffee – ground, not instant.
Are you a morning person or night owl?
There are not many better feelings than getting up extra-early and completing a run, before having the whole day ahead of you…
